Three years ago, I sat down with my neighbor—an HVAC veteran of 30 years. He was paying thousands a month for "industry-standard" software and generic pricebooks that still didn't solve his biggest headache: consistent, profitable pricing in the field.

We talked about building a better way, but life happened. I moved my family from Colorado to Florida, kept my corporate software job, and managed my own properties.

When we reconnected recently, he had started a new company and migrated to a different field service platform. While the user experience was better, the exact same gap existed. The software was a great digital filing cabinet, but it wasn't a pricing engine. Every pricebook he had ever used lacked the logic he needed to protect his margins on every job.
